‘Airborne’ commemorates the spectacular slips catch of Australian captain Ricky Ponting during the 08/09 Test series. On the fourth day of the second Test in Adelaide, Australia had New Zealand on the ropes and you could sense something Extraordinary was about to occur. Streaming in from Cathedral End, Lee delivered a ‘beauty’ to Jamie How which he fended past the slips cordon and on its way to the boundary……or so he thought.

Somehow, as if by magic, Australia’s Captain Ricky Pointing managed to get his outstretched arm and fingers to the ball as it had all but flown past him. “That was the best catch I have seen live,” an overjoyed Lee remarked. “There’s obviously been a lot of great catches…but from games I have played in , that is the most amazing catch I have ever seen,” To commemorate this feat of cricketing skill, Cricket Australia in conjunction with Taylormade Memorabilia is proud to release this Fantastic Limited Edition print featuring the catch as caught by Channel 9’s cameras. A strictly limited edition of 2000 is to be released worldwide, serving as a lasting reminder of this memorable classic catch.
