Over the years, the Carlton Football Club has produced captains whose names are synonymous throughout the land with leadership, bravery and unbridled ability. These men have led Carlton to premiership glory, have been recognised with Brownlow medals and best and fairest awards, and have represented their states with distinction. They have marshalled their troops for impending battle, ignited and stirred the ferocious hunger in their teammates, and inspired their comrades with acts of selflessness and courage.
Marc Murphy has now been recognised for his outstanding leadership qualities and joins this long list of footballers afforded the highest individual honour at the Blues. The Carlton Football Club is pleased to pay tribute to Murphy – Carlton’s newest Commander.
