The photographs selected represent the peaks of Wally Lewis’ football career. There is no higher honour in Rugby League that to play for ones country. Wally Lewis firmly believed this and the choice of a Test match game for the central ‘signature photograph’ mirrors his belief. State of Origin football also holds a very special place in the heart of Wally Lewis and this special place is reflected by the other photo selections which portray ‘The King’ as most Rugby League fans know him best.
In the smaller photograph on the left, Wally Lewis celebrates his victory at the S.F.S after clinching the 1989 Origin series after a memorable match.
The photograph on the right reveals Wally in action during the State of Origin series.
The main photograph was taken during a 1988 test match, and is a study in concentration as Lewis throws a characteristically long, arrow-like cutout pass along the Kangaroos back line.
This is the photograph that has been personally hand-signed by Wally Lewis.
These classic action photographs adjoin a written tribute that captures the story of the greatest Rugby League player of the modern era. Incorporated into this tribute is the Seal of Limitation which has been individually numbered by a calligrapher.
