SOCCEROOS 2022 WORLD CUP SQUAD SIGNED JERSEY DISPLAY
“Right from our first games as a nation in 1922, there has been no greater honour than to wear the colours of your country. Remembering who we are and why we do it brings an incredible sense of pride.” – Paul Wade, former Socceroos captain
As Australia celebrates the centenary of its beloved Socceroos, we pay tribute to those who have worn the national colours with distinction. Starting with the first men’s national team that headed across the Tasman to do our country proud in three internationals against New Zealand, to Peter Wilson’s 1974 World Cup trailblazers, to Tim Cahill and the Golden Generation, we arrive at the present day – where for the sixth time the Socceroos take to the world stage. Our 26 signatories compete in Qatar, not just with the hopes of a nation on their back, but urged on by the spirit of the entire 628-strong cohort who Australia has entrusted in our century-long pursuit of ‘green & gold glory.’ From the pioneers, to the legends to the future of our men’s team… we honour them all.
